POSITION:
Exercise Physiologist
REQUIREMENTS: Master Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the foreign educational equivalent and 3 year experience in the job offered.

DUTIES: Collect and analyze data to identify individual and/or group needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles. Design, conduct and evaluate kinesiology-based activities that help improve the health of the clientele. Observe, analyze and record individual’s participation, reactions, and progress during exercise sessions. Develop treatment plan to meet needs of the individual, based on needs assessment, interests and the objectives of therapy. Modify exercise programs as needed. Encourage clients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in exercise activities. Prepare and submit reports and charts to treatment team and physicians to reflect individuals’ reactions and evidence of progress or regression. Design and recommend exercise plans and methods for individuals including those with diabetic, obesity and malnutrition conditions. Perform initial physical fitness assessment, including prior exercise history, previous injuries or restrictions, flexibility, strength and body composition. Conduct fitness testing activities including manual muscle test and movement analyses. Participate in vestibular dysfunction evaluation and treatment. Assess the mechanism of fatigue during movement. Evaluate biomechanics and motor control of human movement. Develop exercise rehabilitation programs for people who have movement disorders. Assess nutrition status of individuals, evaluate nutritional needs and design diet plan for clients based on conclusion and evaluation of the individual. Assess client fitness levels and assist in developing appropriate physical activity programs. Assess clients before each exercise session. Communicate and demonstrate recommendations to improve results from exercise routines. Monitor relevant information relating to health, prevention and other risk factors before, during and after completion of physical activities. Identify, prepare and present education sessions based on needs of participant concerning alterations in physical activity and exercise methods/programs. Operate computerized movement analyses, electromygography, biofeedback machines, slow-motion film and videotapes. Develop individual exercise plan. Work with athletes to improve the fitness and performance levels. Evaluate and establish goal setting for athletes. Conduct and instruct individuals in equipment and training resources, including weights, and other machines for understanding of equipment purpose and proper use. Monitor and follow-up with athletes including adjustment of exercise prescription.
SALARY: $ 22.79 per hour
